Changing some annoying predefined settings

Don't automatically mark as unread

File -> Options -> Mail -> Outlook-panes, button Reading Pane -> Uncheck Mark item as read when selection changes.

Don't show a notification when a message arrives

Disable Play a sound and Display a Desktop Alert under File -> Options Mail -> Message arrival

Put email content below inbox

Go to Mail (not Calendar, Contacts or Tasks) -> View (the ribbon tab) -> Reading Pane -> Bottom

Switch between working offline and working online

Menu Send/Receive -> group Preferences -> toggle Work Offline.

Pasting content

Ribbon tab Message, then Clipboard -> Paste.

OST and PST files

PST stands for Personal Store.
These files store the data of the personal folders, such as (?) emails, contacts, tasks and calendar.
OST stands for Offline Store.
These files store the data that was (previously) downloaded from an Exchange Server.
The (a?) PST file is stored under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Outlook\username@domain.ost
