Git: template directory

The content of the template directory is copied by the command git init to the Git directory/repository.

The location of the template directory is determined with the following order (the first one found is accepted):

• Cmmand line option --template=<dir> of git init
• $GIT_TEMPLATE_DIR environment variable
• init.templateDir option
• Default template directory under /usr/share[/usr/share/git-core/templates (Windows: <git-install-root>\mingw64\share\git-core\templates).
