LaMDA stands for Language Model for Dialogue Applications which is a family of conversational large language models developed by Google.

LaMDA is built on the seq2seq architecture.

In response to the popularity of ChatGPT, Google announced Bard on February 6, 2023.

LaMDA was earlier named Meena.
