Gérard Gertoux vermutet Seqenenre Taa als den gesuchten Pharao:
… Exodus pharaoh identifications and theories … are absurd because the pharaoh of the Exodus died suddenly in the Red Sea according to the biblical text (Ps 136:15) [ … ] According to the biblical chronology based on absolute dates, not to the scholarly chronology of Edwin R. Thiele, the pharaoh of the Exodus died on May 10, 1533 BCE (exactly the same day). Consequently Seqenenre Taa was the pharaoh of the Exodus, according to absolute chronology.
Immanuel Velikovsky identifiziert Timaios als den Pharao, der zur Zeit des Exodus regiert hat (Edi R.).
Gemäss konventioneller Geschichtschreibung lebte Timaios um 1750 v. Chr. was allerdings für den Exodus nicht in Frage kommt, es sei denn, man verschiebt sein Leben auf 1450 v. Chr. (was Velikovsky ja auch tut und dafür je nach Ansichtsweise mehr oder weniger gute Beweise liefert).
