Tamper protection defines if it's possible to tamper with «important» security features (that is: Defender Antivirus Settings).

Tamper protection needs to be disabled, for example, to modify values in the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options, see starting cmd.exe as nt authority\system.
