The primary language of Power Pivot is DAX (Data Analysis Expression), but data can also be queried with MDX.
If Power Pivot is used to crunch large amounts of data, a 64-bit installation of Excel is needed if more than 2 GB of memory is needed by the SSAS Vertipaq Engine.
