Shell command: loadkeys

$ loadkeys de-latin1
$ loadkeys de
loadkeys loads the kernel keymap (keyboard translation table) for the console.
loadkeys can be run by everyone with access to /dev/console.
The keyboard translation table is shared by all virtual consoles. So, loading a new translation table affects all users connected via virtual consoles.
Apparently, by default, loadkeys loads /user/share/keymaps/i386/qwerty/defkeymap.map.gz

--mktable
