/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf

/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf is the main entry point fo rconfiguring the ALSA system. It usually calls (sources?) ~/.asoundrc.

Apparently, /etc/asound.conf is an alternative location for /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf.
